ignition switch help please
There is an alignment tool to do what you need. But it can also be aligned with a long screw driver that will fit through the hole in the center. When looking down through the hole you should be able to see anything that is not lined up. Use the screw driver to turn just the part that is not lining up. You also have to make it so it is in the right position when you turn it on or the bike will not start. If you have a manual it will guide you through the steps. If you do not have a manual I would get one before trying things like this. It can save you the price of the labor to make things right.
I hope this helps. Good Luck.

this happen to me , took off with manuel easy enough. then reinstalling even with manuel got frustrated and almost twisted it in half. after 20 minutes stopped took a deep breath and read manuel backwards to put back on. no tool or screwdriver?
The tool or screw driver are only needed if you have one of the sections turned out of position. If you look down through and everything is still lined up there is no need for any alignment. Just following the instructions exactly. Yes, even with it all aligned properly it is a pain the first time. It has to be exactly right to go back in and function correctly.

I did the same thing and thought I was toast. But after about an hour with a long flat screwdriver I got everything lined up so the switch would go on in the correct position. Unfortunately you can get stuff lined up so it goes on in the wrong position too... sheesh. Just take your time and you'll get it.....
