Default shifting question

2013 street glide 103

When I go to downshift coming up to a stop sign or red light, it gets hung in between gears and I have to let out on the clutch to get to go in gear. Its has done it in all gears.

Explain a little better, downshift from six to back to first, I sometimes can't get it to go past fifth gear, meaning you push the lever down and it won't go to another gear unless you let the clutch out just a little and you can feel it go into gear. I've have had to do ever gear like that several times when coming to stop.

It has a little over 6,000 miles and fluid is Amsoil SYN. 20w50 and done it like that from the factory, several dealers can find a problem. Clutch has been adjusted several times. No gear noise or upshift problems.

Is this just a norm of these transmissions or is there a problem? Anyone else experiencing this?

Sounds like you coming to a stop before you shift it down? Shift it down while still moving.

Is your foot resting on the entire lever assemble (heel and toe)?
You maybe rocking it between gears. Or, if you are just using the toe lever, you are not lifting your toe up high enough for the return spring to do it's job.
There is a chance that your gears may be slightly out of adjustment. Is it still under warranty? Did you purchase the extended warranty? If yes to either, go see the steeler or if not, a good Indy.
I can be at a stop and shift from any upper gears down to and including neutral.
Mine is a '12 SG using the same oil.

Is your shift linkage binding or not adjusted properly or is primary/trans fluid low. Still has low miles maybe run it for a few thousand miles more to see if it will break in. I didn't like amsoil in my primary I'd either run the stock HD formula + or I run redline primary fluid that works great for me.
Forward shifter shaft were the heel toe shifter is located may need to lubricated

Shift Shaft might be hanging and need to be greased? Had this happen on my 2008 once.

I start to downshift at about 45mph. Has done this since new. Two different dealers no problem found.

I have no heel shifter, took it off as my bottom of my pants would snag every now and then.

When it does it I push down to downshift on the lever still rolling, and it wont downshift to another gear. I can push it five times and nothing. Let off the clutch to were it catches and it goes into that lower gear. Has done it with Amsoil, Belray, and factory gear oil.

Shifter linkage was supposedly ok by dealer.

Exactly. Don't wait until you stop to shift down through all of your gears.

You say "when it does it". I'm sure you have some issue going on but you're going to have to get it to the dealer when it's doing it. Otherwise, everything is going to check out ok.

I'm in the audio business and when someone comes in and says my system is making a funny noise sometimes, I have to tell them to bring it back when it's making the funny noise.
