Default Bent fork tubes- Need some help/advice

I'm replacing a set of forks on a 2006 FLHTCI that were damaged in an accident. The tubes were bent and one of the lowers damaged. I want to make some changes and upgrades at the same time, like a progressive cartridge/lowering kit. I've got a 21" wheel and an HHI 6 piston caliper to go to a single sided brake as well. I've been looking at some complete fork kits with single/double caliper brackets but have some questions. I'm still using the stock triple trees, which appear fine.

So my questions are:
1. Are all of the Harley 41mm front ends the same?
2. What is the factory tube length for my bike supposed to be?
3. My 21" wheel is set up with 25mm bearings, can I use a 25mm axle with lowers that were using a 3/4" or 1" axle?
4. How much do want to lower the front for the 21" wheel?

Any help is much appreciated and would love any other advice or guideance you guys could give me. Thank you

I believe the axle size is the only difference. I have some parts if you need them. Sorry I can't PM you but you don't have enough posts yet. Here's a link:

Thanks JCleary. So is the axle itself the only thing that's different between the models then? Lowers are the same?

The touring lowers are the same from '00 to '13. Not sure on the years but later (1"/25mm axle) Softail 41mm FL lowers should also work. Internals are different though out the years/models.
2. What is the factory tube length for my bike supposed to be?
Don't know length or difference on the tubes, but a few part #s?

I'd stick with 1" or 25mm to be safe. I know those axles interchange.
4. How much do want to lower the front for the 21" wheel?
I don't lower harleys. Can't afford to lose lean angle or suspension travel.

Any help is much appreciated and would love any other advice or guideance you guys could give me. Thank you
Good luck

No the axle and spacers are different. Plus there is a difference between abs and non abs spacers. Non uses both spacers the same, abs uses a thinner one on the abs side. Actually a cheap part from HD, 8 bucks each or so.

If you plan on keeping the bike for a while and since it is torn down as far as it is if you have the $ look at CCE for a much improved top tree and the fork tubes.

I agree with Ted, the CCE upper triple tree and 2" extended fork tubes seems to be a great set up...pricey though. I have mine torn down to the triple tree right now, and wish I could spring for the extra 800 bucks.

Anybody else know if I could use a 25mm axle with lowers that were using a 3/4" axle"?

That's good advice on the CCE products. I'll look into it.

That would be a great place to start, as the CCE kit can be bought to match any set of chosen sliders. Worth calling CCE though, to talk through options, before buying a kit.

Brewser, you can compare part numbers through the years by using one of the on-line parts websites, like this one. For example if your 06 fork internals are not damaged you can see which sliders etc they can be matched to (if any!).

No Brewser80, you can not. Axle size is specific to the lower sliders.

but the good news is you can swap bearings to match the axle.
