Is the gel easy to install? I just read about it on the website...... Says it takes a few miles to smooth out, and says once it's in, I can't use anything else to balance...... But I guess I'd have to pop a tire off the wheel to get the damn beads out also...... Price is comparable, and the sealing qualities have me a bit drawn to it
Gel. Been using it since they first hit the market with no issues or worries. A lot of wheel/tire shops are moving towards that direction. The wheels and tires on my Limited Eastern Performance did them and they put in Ride On.
Lots of good responses..... Thanks. Just had a thought though, let's say there ARE beads in there now, is there a way to tell? If I add the gel, and there ARE in fact beads already in there, am I screwed?
I think I would have just paid a local shop the $5 they would have wanted to do a quick spin balance...
I'm not sure if you posted anything more (in a separate thread) about the wheel purchase...but a 'great deal' on fatty spoke wheels just makes me think DNA wheels. If so, that's a whole other thread...and you might wanna go grab some tubes (if you haven't already)...you're gonna need them. Ask me how I know...
Anyway. Wheel weights aren't pretty...but you don't have to break the bead on a tire/wheel to use them, and can't see them when your moving.
The Red dot on the tire must be mounted opposite of the air valve stem. My buddy failed to do this and caused major wheel hop no matter what weights or dyna beads were being used. I use the beads with no problems on a 21"-18" set-up....Good luck

Yep..... My great deal, is a great deal more bouncy than anticipated...... It doesn't ride bad, just not as good as I'd like!
Dyna beads are all the dealers around here in CA use now. CA can't use the lead wheel weights, bad for the environment or some crap, so rather then sticker 50 of the crap weights on the wheel, they all moved to dyna beads, standard practice.
