Default backrest question

I FINALLY got to put about 80 miles on the RKC yesterday. What a difference coming from the sportster! I feel like I'm too far forward with the backrest though. Are they adjustable? it came with the bike and I have no instructions. I think I need a Sundowner, too!

Yes, you need a Sundowner. If your backrest is adjustable there is a lever under the left side of the seat. If it's not, when you install the Sundowner, shim up the front mounts of the backrest mounting bracket with washers. Use a longer bolt if needed. Some on here use a torch and bend the bracket, the washers worked well for me.

I bought a Mustang seat with removable, adjustable backrest. I replaced my Sundowner with it and couldn't be happier.

There is a hole in the back of the pad where an allen key fits. The adjustment is minimal. I ended up bending the rods back. I got it right on the third or fourth try.
