Question about Load Equalizers
I have a 2013 FLHTK and I want to add LED turn signals both front and rear. I thought that I would need a load equalizer, so I called a vendor to inquire as to what model equalizer I would need. The vendor told me that my bike does not need an eq., just take it to the dealer and have them move a switch that is on the bike. Has anyone heard or experienced this?
+1 on this answer. I got mine from them. Front and rear LED inserts, smoked lenses and load equalizer. Super setup and much brighter.

You will need a load equalizer if you install LEDs font and rear. I highly recommend the Badlands LE as well.

H-D LEDs have equalizer built in so you won't need one with them. If you change all four signal lights to LEDs, with aftermarket ones, you will require an equalizer or LEDs with resistors. Resistor type are not recommended as they heat up and can't be used for any length of time or with four way flashers; too hot. Solid state equalizer is the way to go Badlands or Custom Dynamics.
If you only change the front or just the rear you can get away with no equalizer. Some guys have had luck changing all four with no equalizer. Usually the signals blink too fast like when you have a burnt out bulb. Using no equalizer with 4 LEDs can also cause problems with your factory security system. TSSM monitors amperage on signals. LED's draw very little current fooling the module into thinking either a bulb is burnt out or security issue.
