The way they work is, they use the power of a 50 watt bulb to fool the bike into thinking the lights are working at full power. The problem is, it is as if you just wire tied a compact 50 watt bulb to your wire harness. The resistor will get too hot to touch, think about the heat going into the harness. They actually warn of a fire risk many times in the instructions. Nice bike by the way.
I have LEDs all the way around on my ride and did the research, got some good info from a tech at Badlands.
The Badlands unit solves the load problem electronically quite well and without the risk, look into it.
The resistors you show are 6-ohm, and assuming you bike is running and battery voltage is 14V, then 14V/6ohms = 2.33A. Power @ 100% duty cycle would be 2.33A * 14V = about 33W, so you would be fine with a resistor rated 50W. The actual duty cycle of the turn signals is probably 50% (because its blinking), so actual watts would be closer to 16.5 watts, sou you're even safer, assuming you don't wrap the resistors in something or otherwise impede the airflow around them.
