Default 07 Back rest.

I bought a driver adjustable back rest for my 07 street glide. The backreast pad is as big as a football. Its way to thick and it dont concave like the rider backrest. Is all the new backrest like that now ? My dealer said it comes that way now. It dont look right to me. Its higher than the passenger backrest and thicker. total thickness is 4 1/2 in. Is this right ??????
