Default Speedway instruments micro tachometer

I installed it today on my 03 FLHRCI. The positive, negative and tachometer signal wires were all in my headlight nacelle. The positive (o/w) and ground (b) wires were capped with a female spade quick disconnect. The pink signal wire was capped with a plastic connector. I used the three enclosed tab locks to make my connections. However, when I turn my ignition on, the tachometer doesn't light up. Any suggestions from anyone who's installed a tachometer. Thanks.

Is it programmed to show "0" when the engine is off?
