Default 2008 wheels

Hey guys. Question about 2008 Ultra rear wheel. these bikes have the damper style rear belt pully . Is the rear wheel different than a 2006-2007? I am wanting to put Street Glide wheels on it and wondering if the 08 rear wheel is a 2008 only part.

Thankyou

You can check that by looking at any of the on-line parts websites! I use this one. Your current wheel is 43402-00B, so any other Touring wheel from 2000-on should fit, including an SG.

08 is an interesting year. The IDS pulley bolts on, so earlier wheels will work, but the bearings and axle are 25mm unlike 07 and earlier years which are 1" So you may have to change bearings and inner spacer to make the wheel work.

I don't believe that you can go from a 25mm bearing wheel and install the 1 inch bearings. I would talk to Howard at motorcyclemetal.com. He helped me a ton the last 2 bikes that I changed wheels out on.

Harley wheels from around 2000 until 2008 will all take three sizes of bearing, to fit axles: 3/4", 1" and 25mm. They all have the same OD, although as they have different fitted widths they each need the appropriate installation and central spacer (between the bearings). I have installed 1" bearings in a Deuce rear wheel and only had to bore the hole through the hub a little larger, to take the bigger diameter axle. My twin row bearings fitted the pockets perfectly!

Harley sells bearing kits for all three sizes, which include bearings plus the appropriate spacer. Screw holes for rotor and pulley are identical across the big twin range for that year range (possible many others!).
