Default Do I need a load equalizer?

I'm putting rear LED's (custom dynamics) on my 2013 SG. I have the security system on my bike. Do I need an equalizer? Service guy said with he security system I may need an equalizer. I am only putting on rear LED's.

Thanks for any advice you guys.

Even without the security system you would need it.

No. Not if you only put LED's in the rear (or front)... but not both. If you go all LED then you need the Load Equalizer. Resistance from having one set of incandescent bulbs, either front or rear, should be sufficient. I have LED's in the rear only of my Ltd. and it's fine.

I found that everything worked ok with LEDs front and rear EXCEPT that whenever I used the turn signals the red key light on the speedo would come on and stay on. If I never used the turn signals the red key would not light up. I got the load stabilizer from Custom Dynamics and it all works flawlessly now.

i put LED 1156 lamps on my rear indicators and they flashed fast the first time I fired em up then they went back to normal speed and I didn't use an equalizer. Im going to guess the system compensated?

I recently put the LED dynamic rings up front, red LEDs on the rear and they worked but the turn signals blinked at a normal rate for a few seconds and then blinked fast. Also the security key icon lit up after a few turns. It just bothered me so I got the Badlands equalizer (plug and play one) and all is good. So my simple hey, let's get some LED bulbs ended up costing me dam near $220 when it was all done.
