Default 2014 Ultra Navigation Problem

Help!!!
I have a new 2014 Ultra that I had the Boom Box 6.5 GT installed in so I could have Sirius XM. I could never setup the Navigation and after I upgraded the software to version 1.17.4 the word Navigation that was in the scroll down menu is now gone. The Navigation hard key turns on the compass but it only shows question marks. Before the software upgrade the compass appeared to operate but it was 180 degrees off. Does anyone have an idea what went wrong?
Thanks....

My compass is 180 degrees off, but the rest of my navigation works great. I would try reloading the update and then if that did not work, take it to the dealer. Use that warranty.

Somewhere this was explained. It might be hard to find in a search. Let me try and rephrase what someone explained in that thread.

The compass acts like the map is always showing North as up. So when you are going north, it points correctly. When you are going south, it points to the bottom of the screen which is also behind you which is north making it seem like it is 180 degrees off. When you are going east, it points to the right side of the screen which is then actually to the south. When you are going west, it points to the left side of the screen which is again actually towards the south.

Not sure who skipped map orientation class 101 before creating the compass on the HD navigation system!

Oh yeah ... I don't have XM, but the manual shows that XM replaces the navigation choice from the menu. I didn't read it further to know what the alternative is for selecting it or what other impact it might have on the built in GPS. Sorry, can't help there.

I'll ask my wife....I don't think she had anything to do with the design. But it sure sounds like she did.

Hopefully you were outside and not in a garage when you were setting this up?
