noise in engine
i have a 07 ultra this is my first harley and i love it however i have a noise in the engine when i accelerate from 60 to 70 mph i use shell 92 octane and i have about 1600 miles on it now does anyone have a good suggestion on what i can do because iam going on a long trip at the end of april

It sounds like you may be lugging the engine. Is it only when your accelerating. Are you in 6th gear? If so I have read that 6th gear is best used at around 75 to 80 mph. I would stay in 5th until then. Take a ride and see if that helps.

What gear are you in when you accelerate from 60 to 70. If 6th your lugging it. Drop down to 5th. My son does not shift to 6th till 65 to 70 and when I ride his thats about the way I shift it. It has never pinged. But he has put on Rinehart Tru Duals, K&N air filter, Dobeck TFI but his never did ping when it was stock. As long as your in the right gear you don't hear no noises.
