Default Turn Signal Module Location

1999 Electra Glide Ultra left side signal lights front and back are dim when bike is idling and don't work at all when bike is running, bulbs seem fine no obvious shorts, different forums and posts seem to say probably turn signal module. Looked at shop manual and see picture of where it is located but can't find it on my bike, pic shows it just below where the tab of the seat goes and I can see the mounting hole but no module. Anyone ever hear of this? Just looking for some ideas before I go to dealership.

If the right side is working just turn them on and go to the relay that is clicking. Same relay runs both sides.

Ya got me then. I can clearly hear the relay on my 07 when the flashers are on.

Ya it's got me baffled as well, I even double checked the VIN to make sure the model year was right.

Just went through this on a friends bike. It is just below the radio inside the fairing. The early models had separate turn signal modules and bank angle switches so it made no difference if the TSM was not mounted firmly and level on the frame. That is where you will find it.

So I should be able to take the outer fairing off and have access to it?

It's nice to know that the shop manual is accurate.
