I am wanting the xm kit for my limited and here is a question for only 14 owners that hat the integrated kit. How much drop out do you get? I have the 665 and got a lot of sat. drop out here in midwest. cars are way better than the 665. anyone have had both? if you are in the desert with clear sky forever it does not count. Mike
Had XM on last bike, did not work as well as a car but I still enjoyed. Main reason I think is location of antenna. Its outside on a car, inside the fairing on bike
I used a car kit to mount XM on my '95 ( early adopter)- the ant was mounted on the radio under the fairing.
This would drop out often when Northbound as my body would block the line of sight from antenna to satellite(s). And the farther North I was, the worse it would be.
remember that the farther North you are, the lesser the angle
I moved the antenna to the top of the tourpak, and rarely had a problem afterwards, even with a roll bag full of clothing on top.
The key is to maintain a line of sight with minor interruptions.
The buffer memory in the unit should maintain even with under passes and trees.
That said, the audio quality and programming has greatly declined since the sirius/xm merger...I doubt I would renew a subscription

Mine has some dropping of the signal and I live in southern Illinois (Route 50) I not sure where the dealership put the antenna in the fairing. On my 08 bike I moved the antenna to the left speaker inside the fairing and it worked great. I agree with MKGUITAR, since the merger the quality of the signal has gone down.
I have the 2014 Limited and installed the XM module. I have had XM on my cars for several years and found the reception on the bike is very similar to my car. There are instances where I may lose reception (seconds as opposed to minutes) for a short time but nothing that I cannot live with. Overall I am very happy with the service.
I added the xm module myself and was pretty surprised at how well the reception really is,,,,,,,, pretty damn good in my area....................... pretty
