Gumout regane is a good cleanup, marine premix tcw3 is a good long term carbon fighter. Amsoil makes a good octane booster in a motorcycle sized bottle. Other than those, I group them under the category of snake oil...

I would not have commented except this is a post asking about fuel treatments, so there you go. I am NOT trying to sell anybody anything - we do not sell to consumers, so I could not even if I wanted to, which I don't. I do not post about the items we make - if I want to sell products, I'll buy an ad (which we do in EasyRider, Rider, etc)

Use (or don't) whatever makes you happy and works best in your opinion.

Many additives are a lot of hype, no doubt, and some actually degrade the quality of the fuel instead of making it better. That being said, my company makes Star Tron, which is an enzyme-based treatment in a fuel base (you could run an engine on our stuff).

The fuel refining industry has been using enzymes for 50 years to increase fuel combustibility and extend service life (Stabilize). We use our stuff in our own bikes, cars, trucks, boats and all other gas-powered (and diesel, too) engines. We have a lot of tests to back up our claim, but the most important test is how it works for you.
It cleans up dirty fuel and actually gets skunky-running engines to run better. It is not an alcohol-based emulsifier.

If someone down this way (South Florida) ever wants to try it I'll be happy to hand you a sample for your own evaluation. FWIW, we are not a Mom & Pop company mixing stuff in a bathtub - Star brite is a 42-year old NASDAQ-traded company with a 300,000 sf facility in Montgomery, Alabama where we manufacture our own brands and many private labels products you'd recognize. Our products are distributed by Drag Specialities, WPS, Romaha and others. No snake oil here, just applied science.

Use what makes you happy, but be aware of what you are pouring into your tank. If that is no additive at all, there you go.

I am a believer in and a user of Startron...works well to prevent fuel system damage from today's crappy fuels...

I have been using Fitch's octane booster. I had a lot of pinging before I tried it, however I have not heard a sing sound in almost 600 miles. It is two cylinders that have pellets in them. You drop them in the tank and forget about them. They are estimated to be able to support fuel for over 200,000 miles. $60 and I don't have to worry about it again.
