Hello everyone, my name is Ignacio I am from Fort Lauderdale, FL with a 2009 HD Street Glide. I have a question as it's happened to me 3 times now as I am riding I have had a couple cars cut me off and when I hit the brakes due to being cut off the bike brakes then loses pressure then I get pressure again. This concerns me as it's happened being cut off, I live on the beach and I have morons who just have no clue how to get around and it worries me as in that specific situation there's not much time to have this issue arise. Any ideas of what could cause this? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Welcome to the forums! I would check to make sure my brake fluid reservoirs were full and go from there. I'm sure you have already done that so then I would wait for someone else that knows more to post a reply.

Welcome...have you had the brake switch recall work completed?

I'd have the brake fluid exchanged. Maybe condensation, or air bubbles? Check on whether or not the recall on the switch was done, if you can, and have the pads inspected for wear.

Welcome to HDF!

As stated above, you should change the brake fluid. Besides adding fresh fluid, this will also bleed air that might be trapped in your system.

Also, make sure that you don't have anything around your brakes leaking oil onto the rotors or pads.

Were you stopping on smooth roads or bumpy roads? If on real bumpy roads, it may be your ABS system (if you have it) kicking in. My 09 does it and it feels like what your experiencing. Engage, disengage, etc, etc......

+1 on the fluid idea... Does it only happen on a panic stop? Is it the front brake or the rear? Don't forget that on an 09 it needs dot 4.... Available at Walmart ...of all places. Where are you originally from?
