Default iPad Fairing Options for FLHR

My old account got deleted while I was overseas due to inactivity so I get to play the new guy again

I finally sold my Ultra. Great bike and lots of amazing miles on her, but I needed to know when I head out to Sturgis I will make it and not be stuck on the side of the road waiting for my Brothers to come rescue me. So I bought the 2014 Road King. Love the bike. 103 ci makes a WORLD of difference! But I bought the bike fully planning on installing a fairing up front. I have found a couple of fairings made with an iPad mini mounted in them for SG's and RG's, but no luck finding one for the RK.

I wanted to get the RK because the gauges are tank mounted and it allows a lot more room in the fairing for speakers and iPad and what not. I figured it was a no brainer,... but after a month I am still looking.

Anyone know of any companies that either
A) make custom inner fairings for that will fit one of the after market outer fairing manufacturers
B) make an inner and outer kit for the RK that will hold and iPad or other tablet device?

Thanks all and good to be back.

I have a Deadcenter fairing and I mounted a GPS using a RAM mount.
It is hard wired in behind the fairing with the plug behind the GPS so I can remove it.
Here is a picture of it.

RAM makes mounts for iPads, which is the link below.
The good thing about the RAM mounts are they are very sturdy but you can remove the device at night or in the case of a iPad, rain.

I seen this in person two years ago in Sturgis and it was sharp...granted it is not for a RK, maybe you can contact them and ask if their inner will fit an aftermarket outer.
Good luck

LOL! That's the company that started my obsession with putting an iPad on a RK! Love their kits,... but sadly they do not make one for the RK yet.

My thought is simple, huge nav screen, digital audio, blue tooth call interface, plus any other apps my heart desires... it's gotta be an ipad mini. I'm stuck on it!

Rem that iPads/iPhones are nearly impossible to see in sunlight. Not to mention not waterproof.

True- they make a couple of waterproof cases that I could use. Sun glare is a concern...

This is very true.

I forgot to mention that in my previous post.

The GPS is hard to see in the sun, with polarized sunglasses, invisible.

I have a iPad and it is impossible for me to see it in any kind of sunlight.

The glossy screen is awful, I don't know why Apple doesn't make a matte screen.

Did you manage, to get an iPad to your RK?
I am just coming up with the same idea, but still investigating.
I found http://www.ebay.de/itm/292070045937?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT, but not sure yet, that this will be the way to go.
