Who besides harley publishes good service manuals. I don't know if I'll ever do a full teardown but a good manual would be nice to have, if nothing else to help me decide what I can and can't do.
Hate to say this, but HD does make the best manuals. There are some aftermarket manuals out there, but not as in-depth as the the HD ones.

I just bought the service manual for my Ultra. After having several Jap bikes and Jap manuals I have to say the HD manual is the best written and best pictorial I've had yet.
Buy the HD one!!
I have used the HD manual on my 95 Ultra classic and it was the best money i have spent. I also purchased the Fix my Hog Dvd's and they are worth the money. On my 95 Ultra classic i still have the radio/cassette system and would like to get info on how to set the radio to scan even frequencies.

Not trying to be prejudice but there is something lost in the translation when someone who's first language is not english trys to write a manual in english. I work at a company that this is the case and wow it can be interesting. The HD manual is written by folks that write and speak english and that makes for a better manual.
