I don't have space for a table, so I make do with a jack. I'm not sure there is anything I actually miss out on, not having a table, but then I've never worked with one.
Both hear . I have had the harbor freight table and jack for over 8 years not a problem out of either one. I did put the Condor wheel chock on the table
I vote table if you have the room, otherwise a high lift jack.
The best part of a table is not having to crawl around on the ground to get a good look at things close to the bottom of the bike. I imagine a high lift jack would be okay but the jack I have only lifts the bike 12-16 inches or so, so you still end up on the ground doing some work.
I went with the HF table and am happy. I changed the wheel chock and bolted the lift to the floor. After bolting to the floor it is very solid.
