Being short, I look thru my stock windshield. A bird flew up from the side of the road. It would have hit me right in the face. It bounced over my head. I like the look of the short windshield but this convinces me to keep a tall one!

 

Like a tall shield myself and I also wear a face shield. Hit a Buzzard last month going 70, hit the fairing, when arould corner of shield, hit me in the shoulder, then hit the guy behind me fairing.

While I agree the taller windshield may save you face from "stuff" and the protection from rain is another plus, I run a shorter windshield. I work nights and when I remove the cover in the morining my windshield fogs over. I can wipe it off but it just fogs again until the windshield get comfortable in the morining air. Running a shorter windshield allows me to look over the shield and the fog....works for me anyway..mine does have a small flip at the top...

 

All good points, I have also had my windshield fog over.

 

You know it's bad when the windshield fogs, then the helmet visor, then the eyeglasses. Hate that when it happens.
