Windshield problem
I used toothpaste on a face shield & it worked good on that . Might work for a winder shield too. I have a piece of one I cut off. I will try it tommorow on it and let you know.[8D]
Hard to keep them shields looking good once they get scratched or something like you've got. I'm starting to sound like a Cycle Care Formula's (http://www.cyclecare.com) sales guy since I've suggested them on a couple of posts, but they make a good product (their Formula 3) that works really well if it isn't too deep. Works well on the rest of the bike too. Also Tulsa Enterprises (http://www.tulsaenterprises.com) offers a product (it's available other places too) called 210 Cleaner/Polisher that works great on windshields. If all else fails, Tulsa also makes a great after market windshield that's priced right and is excellent quality.
Meguiar's also makes Plastic cleaner and Plastic polish ( the cleaner is more abrasive ) which I've used on windshields and helmet shieldsfor over 25 years .
I havn't used their Plastic-X to see how it compares , but have been satified with most of Mequiars products .
