Question 103 Stage 1 - low budget route

Anybody know if these 103 Air Cleaners (2014 - 2017) are all the same?
Word is that the HO high output model can get you down the road towards a Stage 1.
These stock 103 models are readily available for sale.. It looks like the HO model.

I'm operating under the theory that this assembly could be swapped onto my 2012 103 Dyna Switchback.
Any information would be appreciated.

HD's Screaming Chicken stuff. EVERYTHING engine related by HD is EPA COMPLIANT. Look at aftermarket. It takes more than the air cleaner cover to get to stage one. Check out DK Customs

Yep. Not dropping a lot of cash right now.

Bike seems to run ok now. I know from doing a Stage 1 to my 1200C that the tuner should help to align everything and make it all the better.

A more free-flowing AC, combined with my gutted pipe and some kinda tuner will hopefully get me closer to a Stage 1.

Yesterday I learned that all of the air cleaners like the one above may look similar, but have different backing plates.
So... something HO (High Output) or Screaming Eagle, for cheap, is my goal right now.

This week in TUNER NEWS

It appears that a mechanic near me has 3 of these old school Vance and Hines (NOS)... he'll sell me one for $75.
Seems like this "low budget" thing may happen!
(Let me know if you want one.... I can put you in contact with him.)

If you really are on a tight budget you could look at the XiED or ViED or whatever you bike needs. A device to fool the ECM to inject more fuel.

If you're on that tight of a budget just save your money at this point. Keep saving money until you can do it right. That "tuner" is a POS. Why do you think that your mechanic has 3 brand new ones and is willing to sell them for 75 bucks? Is it because he's a great guy and he really likes you? No...its junk and he'll take anything at this point to get rid of them. Sorry for being harsh but really don't waste your money. You can probably modify your current air cleaner by removing the back plate and using a high flow K&N type filter combined with at least a slip on exhaust...look here for something used...and the most critical part is a good tuner. Buy once cry once. Get a power vision from fuelmoto. That way it'll be able to grow with you as make changes and fuelmoto will give you maps to match your setup.

@Screamin beagle he is correct about the PV. I have one and it does do a very good job.. Especially when it comes to more motor upgrades.. The fp3 I recommended really only supports stage one and some cams.. Not much else.. The PV will adapt to most anything out there. It's a shame the price doubled in the last 2 years.. duck Joe Biden...

Default 2012-2013 Fuelpak reviews

The reviews are actually pretty favorable for that 2012 Fuelpak.
Guessing that it'll help.
