I'm so close to going to trade in my wideglide for a 2004 vrsca. i have a great lookin and performing machine. what would push me over todo the deal. maybe someone may be able to convince me
No convincing necessary, you'll know if you want one or not. Maybe not now, maybe not ever, but if that day comes you won't be sorry. Only drawback I've found is that few people like them. Too stuck on tradition.
That's okay, it makes my ride even more unique. I don't like following the crowd.

Sell it your self. The dealer won't give you anything near what's worth.
well that was my other debate to sell it myself. the dealer that i was at seemed to think he could be close to what i owe. but i dunno. yes i love the rod.. i just think that selling and finding the right one. my dyna only has 8000 miles on it. its a 2001. looks really clean. i think it has adjustable pushrods, but i dunno. is there anyway to tell if they are. i rode a 2004 vrsca that had se pipes and stage 1, and didn't seem much faster than mine. i didn't get to ride it on the freeway or curves. but i have back problems and i need to lean forward. not lean back.. i have street slammer bars with a stock seat. i found a hd rallyrunner seat that will set me back a bit further and lower. and the price is only 175. new in box. i think ill try that first. and then see about selling it. i really would like to find the nite rod sp. ed. such a sweeeeeeeeeettttttt ride.

Then you never got on it. I guarantee you'd have to put a lot of money and time into an air-cooled engine to make that claim. Adjustable pushrods aren't even going to come close. The reality is that for every three dollars someone puts into an air-cooled bike to make it faster a VRSC owner would only have to spend one to stay ahead. I'm not trying to rag on air-cooled owners, every H-D I ride with is air-cooled, but the liquid-cooled Revolution has a far superior design to the air-cooled H-Ds in terms of performance.
FxDave when you ride a V-Rod at that point where you think its about time to shift like on that Wide Glide.... instead of shifting twist the wick HARD especially in 3rd gear... then get back to us okay?
well i guess that i must not have got on it hard enough. i think im goin to take a demo ride soon. the one that i was looking at wich i didn't get to ride yet is 12,995. its a 04 and it is stock. is it worth it. i can't remember how many miles. it just needs a lil tlc. not a lot. good wax job and wash. I can't afford to go new. so i'm gonna look around more.Of course i want the bestbike for the money. If its not rainin i think i'm gonna go test ride it. i hope that ican leave a mark. on the pavement
Another demo is definitely in order. Like agedwards63said, your Dyna shifts at a point that the VRSC start to make some serious power. Redline is 9000 and max HP occurs at about 8200. Watch you tach, not your ears. It's a totally different machine than you're use to.
