Saw one in my dealership today. Awesome looking bike with 144hp I think they said. Anyone here actually found the top speed of one? Serious bike and the 240 rear tire is probably needed.

Wolf,
As an owner of a VRSCSE2, I can tell you that 144hp out the box is not accurate. It is more in the 118hp range without mods. Get one and join the club...
I got the chance to ride a buddy's Sreamin Eagle VR. IMHO that scoot is "Scarry Fast"! Sure wish I would have had a full coverage helmet on or at least a 3/4 with face shield. I wasn't very comfortable with the handling (as I normally ride a bagger) but I could compromise for the added power.
In younger days I rode a real screamer (brand to remain anonymous for purposes of avoiding lumps on head) but that Vrod nearly jumped out from under me at 80MPH. I was impressed! What's really funny is my wife thinks they are just so beautiful. She swears it's a ladies bike. If I rode a VROD like I ride my bagger, it would be a ladies bike alright, my widow's bike!
I rented the a v-rod when I was in Florida a couple months back and stopped at the west palm beach rest stop on my way to returning to the stealer and thought I have not run this thing out yet so finished my cig and fueled up then proceeded to redline it all the way to top gear and low and behold when i looked down for 1/2 of a second For reasons I don't need to explain it said 165so with that knowledge when I went to pick out my harley i chose a night train.I just can't be trusted with that power although it is on the Got to Buy List and yes those orange SE vrod are hot.
It's the reason I am buying a Road King. I cannot have all that speed and torque and not use it. That's right I have no self-Control. Used to ride my R1 an average of 140 mph. I'm glad all Harleys are not VRODS.[sm=smiley32.gif]
I test rode a V-Rod yesterday Man was it fast. Since the bike only had 35 miles on it i didn't redlineit but it is way faster than my Fat Boy and a lot smoother (quieter also, i have the se pipes on the F Boy) Maybe it's just my age but how do you guy even read the numbers on the tach. Decided it was not for me, to little self control. It was fun for a few miles though
I rented an 04 b model and then my fatty. I hit the rev limiter at the bottom of the onramp in third gear at about 109! Bought the fatty instead just to stay outta trouble. I definately have second thoughts now and then though.

Enjoy.
Is that 118hp at the rear wheel, or rated at 118??
