Default Noob here

I ordered my 08 Night Rod Special while in Korea almost a year ago. Finally arrived in San Diego where I had to have it shipped seperately (Harley won't ship to Hawaii for oversease sales) It's now on it's way to Hawaii, and I'm waiting again..snif. At least I got to put 22 miles on it before it shipped. I've not ridden in over 20 years, and never thought I'd bother with another Bike until one day in San Diego old town there was an 07 NRS sittin there lookin all sexy. I just sat there and stared at it waaay too long. Anyway, something clicked. This will be the first Harley, even motorcycle that I've "Owned". Some may say/think I should work my way up to the heavy bike, to which I say, I'm 42, not 24. I wanted a cruiser not a crotch rocket, but never liked the large vibrating, loud look of the classy harley, no offence, to each his own y'all know. I'll be taking this bike slow, as I did my first 22 miles, no rush, till I'm all cumfy then maybe get it past 45.... Anyway, I'm happy to be a Harley owner..just wish it were here NOW.

Don't worry. No V-Rod rider like the large , vibrating, classic look of a real Harley! You are going to be perfect for the bike!

Hey troll, you're back! You're at least on a Knuckle, right? I have to look at your profile cause anything else just isn't a real Harley either, huh? You're one of those idiots that start **** just cause no one ever taught you better. Here's a spoon........

Good selection on the V-rod.

Why doesn't Harley ship to Hawaii when you buy overseas? I just came back from Iraq in Oct 2007, tried to buy one out there but they didn't ship to Hawaii. All other states were free shipping. Can anybody tell me whats the deal?????

jqvrod,
Something about there not being a Pure Harley Dealer in Hawaii, all the dealerships sell other brands and what not, so harley won't ship. This is what the sales guy at the Harley dealer in San Diego said, don't know what to make of it really, personally, I think it's a lame excuse. Would love to hear the real deal.

Welcome to the Night Rod family. Now to un-Noob you. V-rods are referred to by the letters after VRSC. I have a D, you have a DX. There are also A, B, R, SE, X and AW. The AW riders usually drop the W and just claim to be an A. Not that you are a V-rod expert, enjoy the ride and get used to the attention every freakin' time you stop.

I just went by the local dealer and put money down on a 2007 AW...did I say it right? Seriously though, I always wanted a bike, and I always knew I wanted a Harley. Since we recently had a baby, I gave up my Mustang that I had spent a lot of time and money on. After a lot of research, and a couple hours on the showroom floor, I had to get one of these. The bike not only fit me physically at 6'1" and 210 lbs, it also fit my personality. The salesman said it right...streetbike speed, Harley ride. I look forward to spening a lot of time reading up on what you guys have to say.
