I have a 05 SE i have converted into a bagger. I got a great deal on a left over in 05. when i started pricing all the bling i wanted i would have had to pay about $10,000 dollars more plus installing it myself. The 06 SE performance will be about the same as the muscle and you will have a bike that was only made for 2 years 05 and 06. Unfortunately the V rod hasn't caught on and the resale is not what it should be. I have been riding H-D baggers for 42 years and my v rod is the best bike i have owned for performance and comfort wise. The other plus to the V rod is the performance is compatible with normal riding skills. The bike is wicked fast but very controllable with your throttle hand.

Hope this helps with your decision.

Dennis

I have a 2006 Screamin' Eagle so I may be prejudiced, but I think he 2006 is the better looking bike. I don't know if either could be considered an investment though. The resale of V-Rods isn't the best. But between the two, I think the CVO's resale would be better. The 2006 SE has the same motor as the Muscle and also has in my opinion the best looking back fender of all the V-Rods. It has the big 240 rear tire, but instead of a big wide rear fender, it has the wide tire fender kit with the more narrow frame and it hugs the tire without all the empty space. I like the Muscle too, I just like the 2006 SE better. I also am going to put a plug in for the Arrnot Air Shock system. I can raise or lower my bike four inches on the fly. I ride it slammed because I am short, and it is really comfortable.

Nice ride Mystic and I totally agree. The 06 with the black & chrome motor looks great. The lowering shocks on yours really makes this bike.

I will tell you that you can pick up a 02-03 Vrod for next to nothing compared to a few years ago. I couldnt sell my VSCRA 02 for 7k and had it listed for months. Also there are guys with 100k on that motor so used should not be a big issue. Mine had 14k and ran like a top. I figured instead of modding mine out and spending a ton of money I would swap it for a bagger then buy a modded out one and be way ahead in the long run. I have seen 25k bikes go for 13k and less and newer 05-06 bikes at 8k or so.

Don't own a VROD, but when looking for a bike (ended up getting a Deuce from a guy at work) I was suprised at the low resale of the VROD, which, to me, made it a great value used. It was actually my first choice. My
