Default Vrod best value?

Went to my local dealership today and saw/sat on a 2010 wide glide, which felt incredible. Unfortunately there wasn't any VRSC models available to sit on, but it got me thinking. For $600 less (obivously not including aftermarket pipes etc and on roads) the VRSC models struck me as better value for a Harley than the wide glide. But having not had the chance to compare I can't really decide whats better for me.

If it was you guys, what would you go for? And do you agree that the Vrods are the best value HD models? Havin' a tough time on this one, so please, any thoughts you've got swing em my way. I need all the help i can get at this point.

I demo'd both bikes the other weekend. The Wide Glide had a great sound and made nice rumble even when I sat at idle. Then I rode a Night Rod (they didn't have a muscle to demo) and I can honestly say I had a grin from ear to ear riding that v-rod. So much so, I was convinced I was buying a bike from the Dyna family, and now I'm set on a V-rod. But I recommend at least demoing each if possible.

In 2006 my wife and went to compare the Dyna line to the Soft Tail line. We made the mistake of test riding a VRSCD. We bought the Night Rod two weeks later. Two, very long, miserable weeks later.

Dynas are cool to look at and to cruise around town on. VRSC's are much more enjoyable when bombing twisties and touring. No comparison on performance, VRSC all the way.

What is the comfort level on these after a long ride, I know some guys who feel it either later that day or the next after a long ride on their bikes, and others could go all day and still feel great. I am looking into getting a v-rod as well. Thanks.

I don't have a problem spending a weekend on the bike. Now that we have air ride to go with the Sundowner seats and the custom sissy bar my wife can handle long rides also.
Obviously we aren't set up for more than an over-night trip, but that's what we bought it for. We wanted a day-tripper/over-nighter that could ride double all day in Arizona summer heat and handle the western mountains. The V-rod does it with style.

The price dropped about $2000 from 2010 to 2011 on VRods. So I think they are the best value Harley has.

They are slowy getting there on the value but still it will cost you about 17K for a nicely outfitted 2011 I remember when HD thought they were gonna get 21K a copy back in 2002 for a VRSCA... and then hyper boosted production on the air cooled bikes in 2003 (very stupid) Harley should have dumped the Dyna line 5 years ago

Why? They've been building the Dynas pretty much unchanged since 1903!

2011 muscles are 14 something here. And at that price I think they are a very good value.
