Anyone have bags and boards on a vrod? Also how does the vrod do for comfort on 2-3 hr rides?
I saw a lady riding one in dallas area...just wondering how she got boards low and back like she had them? I'm guessing a kit or something?
Had a Vrod, sold it and bought a Ultra. Vrods are REALLY fun around town but for me and the long trips I like to take it just didn't work out. I'm a 6'1" and 300lbs I always felt cramped even after flipping the pegs over and putting a spacer under the bars.
I also didn't like the lack of luggage for them.
There are kits out there to make a bagger out of them. Putting a Road Glide fairing on it and mounting hard bags. I looked at doing that but decided I was trying to make the bike into a Ultra and it would be easier to just buy an Ultra.
I have the adjustable floorboards on my 06. They are available from Drag Specialties and fit where the stock clevis is. I ride all the time 300-600 miles a day with no problem
That's my bike in the pic in Smittys post. A company called cycle visions ,makes adapters for the the road glide fairing, HD style floorboards, tour pack mount, rear fender extension, front fender and saddle bag mounts. you have to use their saddlebag lowers due to the vrod shock angle but all the HD latches and lids fit.
