Hi to all. My name is Mike and I've been riding for over 34 years off and on. The longest I've gone without is about 2 years after herniated a disc in my back. My current ride is a 06 Electra Glide FLHT and it is by far the best ride I've ever owner. I started riding when I was a kid and have had my share of everything from a 350 Yamaha, my first motorcycle, to Sportsters, Dynas, and now this first touring machine. My old man introduced me to motorcycling when I was a baby. The love of his life was a 51 Indian Chief that he bought new and owned to the day he died in 1985. The bike was stolen while I was making plans to have it transported to Florida after his death and has never been recovered. I miss him and would have love to ride his Chief again.
I live in East Central Illinois and have been riding all my life too. My neighbor (while I was growing up in Cincinnati) was the president of the Indian 4 Club, so you can see how I got interested in Motorcycles. I spent hours in his garage helping him restore old Indians and Harleys.
I now ride a 2000 Screamin Eagle Roadglide but have owned everything from a 50 cc minibike, dirtbikes, 650 Yamaha, Sportster, 59 Panhead, Heritage Softtail and numerous Classics and Ultras.
You picked a great forum to join. The people here are great and very willing to help answer any questions you might have. With as many members as we have there aren't very many problems that we can't solve between us.
Thanks to all for the welcome. Right now the bike is stone stock but I have a Big Sucker and a set of Rinehart True Duals sitting in the garage waiting for a few more miles. Hopefully I'll get the parts on very soon and then put in on the dyno for some fine carb tuning. Too much going on for the last two weeks to put some miles on the bike. My youngest daughter is getting married this Saturday and that has taken up quite a bit of my free time.
Hey, good luck on your daughter's marrige, hope that it's a good one.
