First off I’d like to say hello to everyone. I use to ride 20 years or so ago. My wife asked me to stop because we had 6 children and I was being deployed all the time and she didn’t want to have to worry about me when I was stateside. I told her that once the kids were grown I intended to start riding again. When that time came she asked me to go back to drag racing like I did early on in my Marine career. So I did, but it just wasn’t enough anymore so I went out and bought a used Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I got back on the bike and after a couple of days getting use to the weight it’s like I never stopped riding. The bike I bought is a 1999, I figured that because it was the biggest bike I’ve ever owned and it’s been a minute since I’ve road I would start with an older one that way if I lay it down or drop it no big deal. What finally made her accept me getting another bike was when my psychiatrist pointed out that it would be good therapy for my severe PTSD. I ride with a local PTSD group out of my VA facility and my wife now agrees how good it is for me to be back on a bike. Well that’s my story and who I am. I don’t talk much about my Marine days because it messes with my head, so don’t be offended if I don’t respond to questions about it.
