Greetings all! I've had 3 Harleys, but 2 years ago I decided I was getting old and wanted a comfy long distance touring bike. After looking around I sold my Low Rider and bought a BMW K1200LT. Put 12,000 miles a year on it. Nice bike... but boring!!! So now I've sold the LT, and about to pull the trigger on a '06 Streetglide. I'm like a kid in a candy shop! It's nice to be back...
So I have been lurking on this forum for awhile, reading the posts, deciding what goodies I couldn't live without when I pick it up the first time. Added to a Pearl Black bike will be a 95" kit, ported and polished heads, Cam (still undecided what), SERT tuner, and Rhinehart pipes with the quiet baffles.
Now I only have to wait until January 3rd for my favorite dealer to re-open... Thanks to all here for the collective wisdom!
I have the Rineharts and I'm installing a SERT and 211 cams in about a month. I had the PCIII but it went bad. Don't listen to all the crap you hear about the rineharts. They are a good pipe and properly tuned with the SERT you will get great performance. I have the standard baffles and they are not that loud. When you get to cruising speed they mellow nicely and they bard just the way I like when I'm getting on it. Smart thing, installing the SERT. Break it in and get it dyno's after about a thousand miles and that puppy will just sing! Have fun with your new toy (The Streetglide is soooooooooo Cool!).
