Not sure I ever checked in here or not. Have been a lurking member for a couple of months now. I listed a set of Rinehart pipes last week, and tho the moderator pulled it soon after (as he should have), I did sell them to one of the folks that responded. Thanks to all !!
My handle probably tells you that I am not exactly new to Harley-Davidsons, although it has beena fewyears since my last one. I have a 3 year old Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe rightnow which was taking me to work most days when its not snowing or pouring rain and on a few trips. It has beenstone reliable and I don't have to wrench it. If you aren't familiar with it, its sort of Yamaha's answer to the Road King. I have a couple of old cars that need regularwrenching and prefer not to be working on my ride much.Anyway, I inherited an '05 RK Classic a few months ago and am slowly making peace with it. As those of you who have one know, its a hard bike to not like and the dude that left it to me was one of the best.
The old Shovel I had years back had open dragsand going back a lot farther: the Norton Commando, BSA and all the bar bands I used to listen to weren't quiet either. I want to try and hang on to what little hearing I have left, so those Rineharts had to go. I have put close to 500 miles on the RK in the last 3 weeks, the last 300 of it with a stock exhaust. The stock pipesmade a huge difference to me in quality saddle time, butstill wake the wife up when I come home. I guess they aren't too quiet.
Have a question: how do you get the cover off the handlebar clamps to adjust the bars on one of these?
