My CA dealer actually talked me out of VH pipes 'cause of the police in Huntington Beach and their aggressive stance towards exhaust noise.

Should have said "screw it" and put 'em on anyway....

I have been shopping for pipes too. As suggested, hang around the exhaust tech forum and do a search on youtube for videos and sound samples.
