Hello all, My log in is 56 Panhead (actually go by Pollock) as I have been told I now have one except it is more like a 65 pan. It is one of the first pans with both a kicker and an electric start. Anyway I am not only new to this forum but also a first time Harley owner now with a basket case of a restoration going on. I was given a 1965 Panhead with a number of 65FL7270 on some kind of frame with number on the neck of C8553. Am trying to figure out what I have. It looks like a super glide but then again who knows. Anyway I have been in the Glide Forum area asking probably all the wrong questions but learning alot. I also picked up a 65 Sprint to tinker with for a few bones but nothing like this pan. Yell if you have some good ideas as I am trying to locate where I can get the split fuel tanks refurbished. Have a great day and remember "If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got. "
You picked a great forum to join. The members here are very friendly, knowledgeable and love talking about Harleys. Stick around and have some fun with us.
On another note, I know where you can get some parts for your Sprint. Charleston Custom Cycle here in Charleston, Illinois sells tons of these parts and ships them all over the world. Ask for Don and tell them that Terry sent you: (217) 345-2577. He might even be able to help on some of your panhead parts. Make sure you have the vin of the Sprint to help determine exactly what you have because they made a bunch of them.
Thanks for the information Terry, I will definitely give them a call. Thanks for all the help too. I ordered the manual for the pan this morning and will nave it soon. The sprint is another project but first the pan.
