Thanks for all the help, I picked up my service manual today so I can finally get into this a little deeper. So far I've checked all the basics. The mounts look good although I will have a good look at that one under the floor board. No vacume leaks, plugs good, and engine is firing on both cylinders. No unplugged sensors anywherem fuel pressure is good ect. Hopefully now with the manual I'll figure it out.

Turns out it was internal, seems that one of the counter balances must have shifted and threw the engine out of balance. Good news though, I had just bought he bike from a dealership about 150 miles away from me. When I told them of the problem, they sent a truck down to my house and picked the bike up and took it back to fix. They had it about a week and phoned to say that the figured it was a balance problem. They said that they could fix it if I wanted but it would take some time. They didn't want me to have to wait so they offered to give me another bike. They gave me a 2006 Fatboy in alot better shape and even swapped over the pipes and intake. They delivered it to me this afternoon. It couldn't have worked out any better for me and I couldn't be happier with the service I recieved !

I am glat they changed this bike out.
To get the rotators out of timing either somebody got things wrong on a recent rebuild or it is really, really wore out. Takes lot of slack to jump a tooth.

We have seen the c/balancer pinion sprocket slip on the shaft, and that'll shake like a SOB.
They are not splined or keyed, just pressed.
We re-time and assemble with RC-680 Loctite, and tack weld them.
Never had an issue with one after that.
