Hello all. Bob from NJ here. Yesterday I purchased an 09 utra classic.
A bike 10 years ago I never would have considered.
Maybe I'm maturing? Nah
I do have a question. On the Harley dealers preowned bikes section of their website which is how I came across the bike. The bike was listed as having ABS and security system. Come to find out the bike does not have security system. Now do I put up a stink? Get them to install the security system? Some one out there must have some words of wisdom.
It is an absolutely beautiful bike.
I would try and get one from the dealer, but I'm guessing they will say that the security system is the fob on your key ring which needs to be with a certain range, so the bike could start. You do have that, right?
Welcome aboard from New York. If it's not as advertised you should let them know and get a lower price.
Would have to agree, get a price reduction. Usually the security system does not have the "additional siren" with it. That is another $90-100. Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum from the great Pacific Northwest!

See Da Juice what I was saying in Ur new member post...
Bob C posted this yesterday and has had several answers and even I asked if he has a fob. and the explained the diff of some don't have the Siren, like a cagger system...
so far no an answer from the OP so we can't help him any more....
Exactly like I told U on Ur New member thread...
thats why I feel sometimes I waste my time helping others....
If U ask for help at least have the courtesy to answer back.
I appreciate all the advise given. I returned to the dealer showed them the print out from their website stating that the bike had a security system. Their reply was it was just a mistake. My reply was I made a decision based on the belief the bike had a security system, and I thought they should install one. I'm waiting for a reply from the dealer.

I'm glad to say the harley dealer called today and said they would install the security system no charge. Bergen County Harley Davidson in Rochelle Park, NJ is a outstanding dealership that did the right thing which makes good business sense. A great group of people over there went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. Kudos!
