Bagger question

I have a 1988 FLH and was thinking about extending the hard saddlebags with a saddlebad extension kit.

The qustion is the kit is for 93 - 04..... do you guys think I would be able to get them to fit the 88 and is there much difference in the hard bags.

I've looked at plenty of pics and they all look very similar...

Any ideas...
