John_O, I don't know how I could enjoy it more. I bought the Sporty for a couple of reasons, 1-money is tight, 2-I really didn't want a bigger bike. For the ridin' I do, (so far no trip over 125 miles one way), it's perfect. I enjoy gettin' off work and ridin' 50-60 miles before I go home. I like to stop at the local lake and check the bikini's out before headin on home, so I ride about 40 miles, stop at the lake and then 10 more home. The Custom comes with the bigger tank and with me ridin 50-60 a day I don't stop everyday for gas. It gets on average 55MPG.
If I had of had more money I probably would have bought a Dyna, but I don't see how I could like it any more than the Sporty.

Welcome to our part of the internet woods. You will soon see that this is a terrific bunch here...

And btw, there is no such thing as "a little change outs' when one owns a Harley. It is true - it is like potatoe chips -you just can't have one. I have an '05 Sporty 1200C. I got her mostly because I am a brand new rider (less than 1,600 miles total on any and all roads), and I knew that sooner or later I would have to lay her and felt much better about laying a $9,000 scoot vs. a $18,000 one. But she is just right for me right now - peppy, responsive and just the right size for me. But if you go through the posts on this board you will find alot of helpful and useful information.

Once again, welcome!
