Hi all, I ride a 03 Road King Classic that I have had for the past seven years. The bike is in excellent condition overall with just over 60,000 miles on the clock. The only mechanical work that I have ever needed doing was the timing chain tension that went at about 30,000 miles. I recently dropped the bike on the right side due to gravel on the edge of the road, it was a hard hit but the end result was primarily cosmetic damage.
Since the accident my Cruise Control no longer works. Has anyone had any problems with similar cruise control modules failing, or failing after an accident? My insurance company have been good so far with general repairs, they OK'd the handlebar cruise control switch but not the cruise control module.
The insurer has asked for the following: "The Insurer will agree to pay for the faulty cruise control unit when they have a comprehensive report confirming it was accident related."
My HD dealer has been great and have tested the cruise control with their diagnostic tools and confirmed it is faulty; but as the cruise control is a sealed unit and has no obvious physical damage, what do I have to do to please the insurance company?
Thank you...
