Hello All. I've ridden bikes for almost 45 yrs., but never an HD. I started out as a kid dirt riding on Hodakas and Hondas. From 1975 to 82, I raced motocross in a 3 or 4 state area. In '78 I bought my first street bike, a 750 Suzuki, and rode the wheels off of it. In 2003, I bought an '83 Goldwing. I liked it, but sold it in '05 for a '96 Wing that I absolutley love. I've always thought that if I ever got an HD it would be an older model, but as time went on, I decided that I wanted to ride it and not be a slave to maintenance. Not to offend, but back in the day the reliability wasn't there for me. Well, things have changed dramatically in the HD world and I find myself ready to get onboard. I set my sights on a newer model Street Glide, but now realize that an Electra Glide Classic is the same bike with different appointments. I have found a few EC's in my area, and my plan is to equip it with a detachable Tour Pac so I can have that SG look. I already have a tourer with the Goldwing, but could have 2 bikes in one with the EG.
Thinking about it, is one step away! I just went to look because it'd been 30 yrs. since I was around them. When the guy started one up, that was it for me. So, go for it!
