Hi my name is Phong and I just purchased a 1988 FXRS. Been riding motorcycles for about 6 years now. Started off on a 2007 Rmz 250 riding wherever I could. Then about a year ago I got my M1 license and bought a 1997 buell m2 cyclone. Cleaned it all up and replaced a bunch of things that needed fixing. Great bike. Fun to ride. Just not that comfortable on long rides. Been looking for another bike. Something lower and more comfortable. Shopped around for a sportster or fxr.
Picked up a 1988 FXRS two days ago in Costa Mesa, CA .
I want to say I got a pretty good deal out of it. It has 25k miles on it for $4800.
It has forward controls but I'm looking to swap for stock mid controls. So if you have some or know where I can find some let me know.
I'm going to pretty much clean and polish it up and check all the bolts before I ride it. Base gasket is seeping but I don't see a need to replace it just yet. My buell had the same problem but rode fine.
