The old 145 hp round motor you had to hand pump grease to the valves on it and it had not been off the ground since 1957, he had went up there for a few week ends and got air plane ready to fly, I took off engine sounded strange, round motor okay but as I got next to a city in Wisconsin there the pitch sound changed, got a lot smoother and quiter was it going to die, looked for air field found one but decided not to land unless things got worse, the engine had just not been ran in so long it blew all the stuff out and ran great.

Been to your state a few times in my life, first Uncle stationed Fort Carson, twice, brother moved to Denver area, been there a few times and just going thru for the hell of it. Been to Royal Gorge few times before they put the tram there to travel across and after, weird when they run over the wooden boards with a car and boards bounce up and down, and I think it was Chyene Mountain road went on. When went to gorge was gonna cross on the tram at least once and they told how many times it had been across decided wanted feet on something solid to cross on in those days anyway.
