Default Rotor moving

Can someone please take a look at attached video and tell me if a floating rotor is supposed to do this and move this much? The buttons move back & forth quite a bit and I get clicking and clunking sound when I start using the front brakes. I really appreciate any feedback!

That is not good. Or to put it another way, that rotor is knackered! I have had a similar problem with the twin rotors on my Glide recently. I even bought new buttons for mine and found they didn't cure the problem, as the holes they fit into were badly worn. I recommend you replace with a nice new one, as I have too, although I am not into skulls! I changed brand....

It's normal if you want it to float away. Too much movement

I found out that they're actually supposed to do that as they are " true " floating rotors. Had me worried at first tho as I just put them on and didn't even have 100 miles on them. They have " semi-floating " rotors and " true " floating rotors. Semi rotors barely move and True rotors move a lot like u see mine moving. There are race bike out there where their rotors move more than mine do and if they don't have a problem doin 180mph, I have nothing to worry bout.

I don't believe that! I've had floating rotors on several bikes and when new they are tight and mostly stay that way. They are 'floating' because the friction zone can move and expand relative to the mounting hub. They are not designed to rattle like yours do IMHO! If you leave that for too long you risk locking your front wheel.

I agree Mr. Brown ... I am not "buying" that. That much motion ( excessive ) will definitely wear out/oblong the holes and deform the "pins" in short order in any mechanical object, rotor or otherwise.
