I whent from elites to Michelin commander 2s. I think the elites are grippier but I only got 10k out of the rear.. the cm2 last double the mileage . I have 10k on my new rear and it looks new. I guess all get 20k out of the rear tire. I am also very hard on tires. I Accelerate hard and brake hard.. no bueno for tires on my 15 rgs

I just replaced OEM Dunlops with American Elite Dunlops. Got 15k miles out of the oem tires and fully expect to get as much if not more out of American Elites. I spoke directly with Dunlop about the difference between the Harley co branded version vs American Elites and they flat out told me that American Elite was a better touring tire.

I don't know anything about your Ultra but I can honestly say that I've run both Dunlop and MC2's on my Springer and I've gotten more bang for my buck with the MC's, at least 5-8k more but that's also based on how I ride.

On my '13 Ultra Classic, I went only 8K on the OEM, (showroom) rear tire. I was disappointed that I didn't even get one season from a brand new tire. I found a good deal on an American Elite and decided to give it a try. I got 19K from the first one and when it came time to change it, it was a no-brainer. I traded the bike after 5 seasons and it had 40K and was still running on the second Elite. I now have a '17 Ultra and after 12K on the OEM Dunlop I've decided to go with, yet again the American Elite. I have no desire to try anything else, these things wear like iron, and ride great.
