Default Shinko 777 white walls - Softail Heritage

Looking at Shinko 777’s for the wife’s 09 Heritage. When looking at the front 130/90B16 online it doesn’t look like it’s a wide white wall in the photo. See top pic

When I searched images only, I found one on eBay in size 130/90B16 front that does look like a wide white wall, see pic

Anyone have the white wall 777’s in size 130/90B16’s front tire that can confirm whether they are wide white wall or are they thinner than the rear MU85 size?

Default Shinko whitewalls.

I found they turn yellow, not a bad tire. A bit softer than Dunlop. So they do wear quick. Good in wet.Remember Yokohama tires shinko bought them .

I love Shinko tires!
I know they are widely hated but I love them.
What I hate is Dunlap 404 D's and the American Elite.
Shinkos are crosscut rather having than having the grooves going parallel to the tire - they do not track those God damn grooves cut into the freeway cement. Or cracks or asphalt snakes.
I like to do my own steering through curves.
isn't it funny how the same item can be loved and hated by different people?
Many think of them as cheap tires but actually they're the most expensive.
This is why - they are softer, grippier they don't last anywhere near as long you'll be changing them much more often and that's a big expense or PITA whether you do it yourself or have a shop do it.
But to answer your question I just put these on my Electra Glide:
Harley MU85H-16 & MT90H-16
equals 140/85-16 & 130/90-16
So yes even the 130/90 - 16 tire has a wide white wall.
Yes even the front tire is a wide white wall one and three quarter inches not 2 in but not the thin line.
There are also reinforced and not reinforced Shinkos, I have the non-reinforced shinkos on my Honda 1100.
And they are rated H rather than the V of many of the tires everyone likes on here.
So you'll have to limit yourself to 130 mph instead of 149.
Whitewalls.
I thought they would look awesome on my Electra Glide.
I was wrong.
I think they look great on an older bike one with spoked wheels but I really hated it on my Electra Glide.
So ... I painted them, yes, I painted them - Miller black tire paint -

Turned out pretty good.
Yours should look pretty cool on an older spoked wheel bike like a 09 heritage.

No, Shinko did NOT buy Yokahama tires,,,,they bought some of the molds.......the 777 tire that is the most widely used on HD is not even derived from those molds.
Please educate yourselves,,,,,,your life could depend on it!!!

I hate the Dunlops I put on my Road King. Worst tires I’ve ever had. I will never install Dunlop again. I’m looking at the Shinko’s or my tried and True Avon’s. I don’t even care about the money, I want these Dunlops off the bike. They ride like crap. Little traction terrible in the rain, ugly and it’s like they try to wobble over road construction grooves.

I also enjoy steering myself thru curves on the freeways with those GD grooves cut into the payment.
Way better than the autonomous Dunlops.
Shinko 777 reinforced.
But you will never comvince a Dunlop enthusiast just as you will never get an Amsoil or Seafoam or K&N filter fan to see something better.

I have Shinkos on my SG with no complaints. I guess if your looking for every available mile out of your tire, I could see the concern. Tires aren't very expensive especially considering we only need two so mileage doesn't really concern me.

I recently was at a MC tire shop and was told Avons are hard to come by these days. He explained to me why, but I cannot recall. Anyone know why?

The Avon availability crisis is past, they are one of my personal favorites as well, run them on all my HD stuff.
