Default Brake Problem

I have a 2001 FLHR the front brakes don`t work the way i think they should,I pull on the lever and it moves about half way to the bars before they start to apply the brakes I have tried to bleed them the old fashion way and tried to use a vacuum pump and i get air passing buy the bleeder fitting and not much fliud volume and the lever never gets any stiffer. I have not seen any fliud leaks anywhere ? Any ideas ?

Thanks The Breeze.

Do you have the stock (from new) brake lines on it? If so, is it possible thet the brake lines are swelling when you squeeze the brake lever? Just a thought.

There is a thread with tips on bleeding brakes in the DIY forum. Bleeding brakes is one of those things we should only do when the stars are in certain alignments and the gods have been appeased for a month of Sundays. Sometimes it goes right, sometimes.....

Best of luck, but persistence pays.
