Took about 1/2" off the inner ribs. After Cutting pods are still structurally strong.

Be carful when trimming the rib on the right. It is angled to the inner surface and a little tricky. Go too deep and you may cut through the pod itself.

Made my first rack too long in the front. Originally was trying to copy the other racks out there for sale, but am modifying for my use, not mass production.

Pods sealed, polyfilled and Mid Bass Installed. Semi-Pro tip. Don't use the shitty screws that come with the speakers. The heads are so soft they strip right out. Use the HD OEM screws. They may be big and ugly, but they don't strips and a little black paint they will disappear.

The general layout of the amps and power distribution blocks. I am going to bend a flange down on front side, and the DSP will mount to an auxilliary plate screwed onto it. Based on mocking it up, it should fit nicely.

Slight adjustments needed. Whole thing needs to come forward about 1/8", and I missed on the speaker pod holes on left and right. Will remake plate today. Idea to have DSP mount on front flange works real well. Should keep wiring clutter to a minimum.

This tab has to come off for rack to fit. The glovebox is fairly stable without this connected, but just for piece of mind I do plan to drill a hole and run a bolt through amp rack and back area of the glovebox to fully secure it.

Fits like a glove. Will get it primed and painted and then all the holes tapped and start mounting the amps and distribution blocks and get it all wired up.

Everything mounted and bolted down. Wiring is next.

Rack all bolted down. Few extra holes I wasn’t planning on, but the RCA cable ends were a little bigger than I assumed.

Happy with the DSP mount. Clears the fairing, and actually gives a nice spot to tuck wires behind.

Semi-pro tip, loosen all the little set screws on the amp before you mount it and start connecting wires. Each amp had one screw that was driven so far in I couldn’t get them loose, and being only a 2mm Allen, I was worried about putting too much pressure on them. End up cutting an Allen wrench and using vise grips with it and very slow and steady pressure with I little shot of WD-40. Once they lived about a 1/2 turn, they were loose enough to come out.

All wired up. Tuck it all up, zip tie and secure and front end will be done.

Got all the Harley cables tucked back and zip tied up. Wrapping all the audio cabling in wear resistant covering and zip tying it down.

From the top. Fit on the grills was tight. Not sure how I feel about seeing the orange paint under the grille. Maybe in the future I’ll pull the grilles again and paint that area black.
