I was just visiting another bike forum looking at pictures as I do every now and then. Last forum I was checking out was a Victory MC forum. Of course as you would expect, general consenses there isthey are the best in eveyway. But what I can't figure our is why virtually every brand except for HD remove their tank badges. I realize that some people including HD bikes remove them for other reasons, but by a large margin, you see way more non HD bikes with the tank badge removed. As if theyseem to be embarrassed by the brand.I can only think of one reason for this. Am I wrong?[8D]
a lot ot non-harley riders bought bikes without checking harley pricing thinking they were higher. i gave spoken with owners to find they paid as much for their bikes that they could have bought a harley.
I think they like the cleaner tank looks. Many a 'Bob owner here dislike those scripty-things and cut them off (I will probably too some day).
And for the Vics, they are easily recognized (like a HD). Their Ness-updated look is unique, and IMO, quite fetching. I will own one someday, just not until I get my current collection down a little.
Some folks just like the clean look of no badges. I like the look of the gas tank badges on my RoadStar. My Duo Glide has some good looking badges and never thought of removing them. It may be just a customising thing. I've never seen a bike in a custom bike show with tank badges.
I took mine off for several reasons. Like the clean look, didn't really care for the ones that came with the bike, plus, they were starting to come away from the tank anyway.
Hmmm, thats funny, I was wanting to put one on my Road King except the HD logo stuff is painted on my tank. I guess it will have to wait until I am ready to repaint the tins.

I like mine. Every cobalt blue and pewter '07 Ultra that I have seen has the red badge and mine came with blue so it's kind of unique.

My old Triumph 750 Bonneville was my first bike with a tank badge, that was so niceafter owning a couple of Jap bikes that had decals or painted designs on the tank, that's always seemed like a cheap to method to me,I'll take a tank badge every time, thankyou.
