Biker down....

This pic is from the LA Meet and Greet. My bro Darren is the one in the black t-shirt, sun glasses, black bandana, sitting behind the picnic table (behind the guy with the baseball cap.

Darren is currently in the hospital after going down yesterday AM riding through the Kern River Valley towards Bakersfield yesterday AM. No known witnesses at this time. CHP assumes a single vehicle accident. Darren can barely speak right now, but this afternoon, he managed to say something about a lady in a white LTD that did not stop. That's all we know for the present. He is on heavy IV pain meds.

I am not a religious person at all, but if anyone wants to send any thoughts his way, that would be great. He sustained a broken back and wrist. Fractured T5 and crushed T6, comming within a mm of paralysis from the chest down. Busted and bruised up, pissing blood. Will likely go into surgery for the wrist tomorrow. Barring any unforeseen complications, he will walk again but it could be one helluva long haul.

Ride safe my brothers and sisters, keep the rubber side down.....

Dang man, so sorry to hear Darren went down, you tell'em we are all pulling for him to get better real soon, prayers and thoughts are with him.

That sucks. Here's hoping your bro comes through free & clear in the long run, and it riding before you know it. With any luck once he's a little more with it, he can provide more info, and if it was indeed caused by someone else, they can be tracked down.
